River  joined us mid-August from a terrible situation. He's one of 6 dogs dumped by their owner because they were no longer useful to her.  

River  is 9 yrs old and terrified. He's currently in a foster home, making slow-slow-slow progress.  He needs a forever family that will provide a quiet, stable environment where he will learn that he's safe from harm. We prefer it be a home where people are home most of the time. He'd be most comfortable with another dog, but, please, no young kids at this time.  He also requires a fence.
