Meet Maple!

She was found laying on the side of the road, collapsed from heat stroke. A Good Samaritan gave her water, cooled her down and found a friend to keep Maple for the night. The next morning, this wonderful lady picked Maple up and drove her to our vet so she could begin her new life.

Maple is a wonderful girl! She wags her tail and loves to give kisses!  The poor girl was just miserable and had to be shaved due to a terrible skin infection and open sores. The relief showed on her face as her coat was shaved off. (We've included pictures of her before she was shaved so you can see what her coat looked like.) She'd most likely never had a bath, never mind a grooming, and totally enjoyed the pampering she got from our groomer.

Maple is an extra large girl who has done well in the scavenging category. Her current 100 lb. load is too much for her body to carry, so we're working on getting her to a much more manageable weight. She walks well, in fact, likes to be led, but would prefer to lay at your feet and be petted. No marathons for this girl! Maple did test positive for Lymes Disease and is being treated for that.
